Rockstar and Take-Two have never published an official figure, but industry reports estimate the budget at around $2 billion once development and marketing are combined. GTA 6 pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 through the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store and major retailers. Rockstar has not announced a PC version of GTA 6 yet. The studio usually launches on consoles first: GTA 5 reached PC about a year and a half after its console debut, and Red Dead Redemption 2 followed a year later. Most analysts expect a similar gap, pointing to 2027 or later.
GTA 6 has taken more than a decade since GTA 5 because Rockstar is building its largest, most detailed world yet, with dense interiors, smarter AI and new engine technology.
